Republicans gaining power but not control of Legislature

BATON ROUGE — The Republican Party stands a good chance of capturing a majority of statewide offices after Saturday's election and next month's runoff, the executive director of the Louisiana Republican Party says, but his Democratic counterpart says he's a long way from conceding defeat.
