Hughes proposals rejected

GONZALES — Ascension Parish President Ronnie Hughes proposed two new taxes Thursday, both of which were unanimously shot down by the Parish Council’s Finance Committee during a rowdy meeting in which Hughes had to be repeatedly gaveled down.
