As the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget began debate on Governor Bobby Jindal's $24.2 billion proposed state budget, the administration found itself on the receiving end of criticism from both Republicans and Democrats. Possible job losses were the top issue as legislators questions Commissioner of Administration Angele Davis and other department heads on the way the budget was crafted. Legislators said the current budget would result in job losses in mental health facilities and prison facilities, causing public safety concerns.
