The time could be ripe for voters to decide whether to undo the consolidation of Lafayette’s city and parish governments, City-Parish President Joey Durel said Tuesday in his State of the Parish speech.
“We have had a 14-year experiment, so maybe it is time for the people to decide if they want to continue,” Durel told a crowd that filled the Cajundome Convention Center for his annual talk on the status of city-parish government.
